Genetic variations in interleukin-12 related genes in immune-mediated diseases

► Many AID have been associated with genetic variations in IL-12 related gene regions. ► Based on IL-12 gene family associations 2 clusters of AID can be identified. ► AID cluster either in the Th17/Th1 or the Th1/IL-35 pathway. ► SNP-based analysis may improve the study of functional consequences for AID.
