Polymorphisms in cytotoxic T lymphocyte associated antigen-4 influence the rate of acute rejection after renal transplantation in 167 Chinese recipients

► We investigated the associations of 5 CTLA4 SNPs on acute renal allograft rejection. ► The SNP of rs733618 and the TACGG haplotype are associated with acute rejection. ► The CACAG haplotype is associated with better allograft function. ► These polymorphisms may be risk or protective factors of acute rejection.
