Utilizing environmental, socioeconomic data and GIS techniques to estimate the risk for ascariasis and trichuriasis in Minas Gerais, Brazil

► We studied distribution of 2 geohelminths Ascaris lumbricoides and Trichuris trichiura in Brazil. ► We identified the important variables for the diseases occurrence. ► With the variables identified we were able to produce predicted diseases maps. ► These maps show the possible priority areas for intervention. ► With theses type of study we could reduce costs on interventions in big countries like Brazil.
