Comparative evaluation of systemic drugs for their effects against Anopheles gambiae

► We examine seven different systemic drugs for activity against Anopheles gambiae mosquitoes. ► Avermectins showed the strongest lethal and sub-lethal activity against Anopheles gambiae. ► A simple assay was developed for quantifying mosquito recovery after blood feeding.
