Bacillus amyloliquefaciens: A mosquitocidal bacterium from mangrove forests of Andaman & Nicobar islands, India

► A bacterial isolate, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, exhibiting mosquito larvicidal and pupicidal activity was isolated from Mangrove forest soil. ► This is the first report on the mosquitocidal activity of B. amyloliquefaciens. ► The susceptibility pattern of the pupal stages of different mosquito species was Anopheles stephensi > Culex quinquefasciatus > Aedes aegypti.
