Detection and genotyping of human papillomavirus by five assays according to cytologic results

► HPV assays including HC2, two PCR assays, GeneFinder and PANArray were compared. ► Total concordance rates between assays were 93.0% for HPV 16 and 96.1% for HPV 18. ► HPV genotypes by GeneFinder and PANArray corresponded well with sequenced results. ► HC2 and two real-time PCR assays could be used reliably for routine HPV screening. ► Genotyping by GeneFinder and PANArray may be applied for epidemiologic surveillances.
