Intra-laboratory validation of chronic bee paralysis virus quantitation using an accredited standardised real-time quantitative RT-PCR method

► Performance of the CBPV real-time quantitative RT-PCR method was assessed. ► The quantitation method was validated according to a French national standard. ► A two-step procedure was performed: evaluation of the qPCR assay itself and of the complete quantitation method, from sample RNA extraction to analysis. ► The quantitation method was approved by the French Accreditation Committee. ► Through our role as European Union Reference Laboratory for bee health, the complete quantitation method can now be proposed as a reference method.
