Evaluation of the potential of Trichoderma viride in the control of fungal pathogens of Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) in vitro

► In vitro screening revealed that Trichoderma viride inhibited radial mycelial growth of the pathogens of Roselle. ► The study also showed that the volatile and non-volatile components produced by T. viride were able to inhibit mycelial growth of the pathogens. ► The significant colony growth inhibition of the pathogens was observed when exposed to the trapped atmosphere from the cultures. ► A culture filtrate of T. viride reduced the mycelial growth of all the pathogens as compared to control.
