Evaluation of the genetic diversity of avian paramyxovirus type 4

► We have determined the sequences of P, M, F and HN genes of five APMV-4 strains isolated in Italy, in 2006. ► Comparison of sequences of the P, M, F and HN genes among Italian strains with known APMV-4 strains showed a high degree of sequence identity. ► Our results suggests that APMV-4 strains isolated to date show extensive sequence and antigenic relatedness.
