Composition of hydroponic medium affects thorium uptake by tobacco plants

► Thorium was preferentially accumulated in root system of the tobacco plants. ► In the presence of organic acids the increase of Th content was observed. ► The addition of polyamines resulted in decrease of thorium accumulation. ► The higher Put concentration resulted in the lower Th uptake in the roots. ► The absence of phosphate ions caused the large increase of Th uptake.
