The effect of aging on the bioavailability of toluene sorbed to municipal solid waste components

► Toluene bioavailability decreased with increasing aging time for MSW constituents. ► Aging time did not affect the bioavailability of toluene sorbed to rubbery polymer. ► Non-bioavailable toluene can be recovered by solvent from the synthetic polymers. ► Non-bioavailable toluene cannot be completely recovered from the biopolymers.
