Intercalation of trichloroethene by sediment-associated clay minerals

► We examined intercalation of TCE by clay minerals associated with aquifer sediments. ► Results show greater d-spacing for samples treated with aqueous TCE solution. ► These results indicate that TCE was intercalated by the clay minerals.
