Tree vegetation and waste amendments to improve the physical condition of copper mine soils

► Two copper mine soils were treated by planting trees and amending with wastes. ► The physical degradation of the untreated soils was considerable. ► The planted trees increased soil porosity in the mine soils. ► The added wastes increased MWD, WSA and SI due to their organic C content. ► To use both treatments is the best to improve the soil physical situation.
