Analysis, occurrence and fate of commonly used pharmaceuticals and hormones in the Buyukcekmece Watershed, Turkey

► A rapid and robust method for quantification of both pharmaceuticals and hormones. ► Good peak shapes, chromatographic separation and recoveries were achieved. ► E1 and E2 are converted to E3 by natural processes in surface water. ► Amoxicillin is more prone to degradation than other antibiotics. ► Ciprofloxacin and erythromycin are resistant to degradation.
