A really quick easy cheap effective rugged and safe (QuEChERS) extraction procedure for the analysis of particle-bound PAHs in ambient air and emission samples

► A QuEChERS extraction protocol was developed for the analysis of particle-bound PAH. ► Obtained extraction efficiencies were equivalent to pressurized solvent extraction. ► QuEChERS protocol was validated with the analysis of the NIST SRM 1649a (urban dust). ► Uncertainties of measurements are minimized due to the simplicity of the method. ► Using QuEChERS, extraction cost is decreased by 5 and productivity is increased by 10.
