Determination of 210Po in various foodstuffs and its annual effective dose to inhabitants of Qena City, Egypt

► Levels of 210Po in foodstuffs samples of plant origin in Qena City were determined. ► 210Po is lower in cereals, root vegetables, fruits than in leafy vegetables. ► Higher 210Po concentrations were found in beverages and herbs. ► The daily intake of 210Po reveals that vegetables are the biggest contributors. ► The ingestion dose was found in the range 0.008-38.3 μSv y−1.
