Long term measurements of atmospheric aerosol optical properties in the Eastern Mediterranean

► Measurements of aerosol optical properties in Eastern Mediterranean are presented. ► Maximum values of bsp are observed during summer, minimum during winter. ► bap was found to have maximum values in August, minimum in June. ► Assuming AS and POM as the only scattering species, bsp can be well reconstructed. ► Mineral dust particles can contribute significantly to bap at visible wavelengths.
