Annual multi-resolution detection of land cover conversion to oil palm in the Peruvian Amazon

► We detect annual oil palm expansion in the Peruvian Amazon at two spatial scales. ► We evaluate tradeoffs among satellite sensors for identifying oil palm expansion. ► We detect regional deforestation for large plantations with 95% accuracy. ► We identify land covers converted to oil palm in a focus area with 94% accuracy. ► Data from multiple satellite sensors are essential for oil palm detection.
