Molecularly imprinted polymer microspheres enhanced biodegradation of bisphenol A by acclimated activated sludge

► BPA-imprinted MIPMs enriched substrates (BPA and its metabolites) of biodegradation selectively ► Higher substrates level promoted degradation efficiencies of activated sludge ► The promotion was more significant in environmental water containing low-level BPA ► The promotion was more significant in water containing interferences heavy metals and humic acid ► MIPMs were more suitable than active carbon to be used as enhancer for BPA biodegradation.
