Development and evaluation on a RFID-based traceability system for cattle/beef quality safety in China

► A model of traceability information acquisition and transmission was proposed. ► A set of RFID-based cattle/beef traceability system (RCBTS) was developed. ► RCBTS provides real-time and accurate data collection and transmission. ► RCBTS implements information tracking and tracing in cattle/beef supply chain. ► Data input method and sequence, and high cost are the three barriers of RCBTS.
