The effect of polyesterurethane belt surface roughness on Listeria monocytogenes biofilm formation and its cleaning efficiency

►New and 5-year used PSU conveyor belts were analyzed for their roughness surface. ► Listeria biofilm is formed on PSU belt with different roughness surface. ► Ra values of surface correlate to biofilm formation ability at low temperature. ► Surface roughness has a great influence on cleaning and sanitizing effectiveness.
