An efficient tag derived from the common epitope of tospoviral NSs proteins for monitoring recombinant proteins expressed in both bacterial and plant systems

► The core 9 amino acids (“109KFTMHNQIF117”), denoted as “nss”, retained reactivity similar to that of NSscon. ► The nss sequence was used to tag recombinant proteins, in bacteria, Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) vector, and agroinfiltration transient expression system. ► The nss tag is also successfully applied for co-immunoprecipitation to confirm the protein interaction in vitro.
