The combination of a synthetic promoter and a CMV promoter improves foreign gene expression efficiency in myocytes

► In this work, we established a dual promoters system in skeletal muscle using a cytomegalovirus (CMV) promoter and a muscle-specific synthetic promoter. ► Initially this vector system is tested using reporter genes Lac Z and EGFP in vitro and in vivo, then growth hormone release gene as a target was also tested in vivo. ► All these results in our paper indicated that the system is an efficient system in skeletal muscle cell gene delivery.
