► We conjugate a recombinant protein phosphatase (PP2A) to magnetic particles (MPs). ► The recombinant PP2A is sensitive towards the marine toxin okadaic acid (OA). ► The recombinant PP2A has a high operational stability. ► The PP-MP conjugates retain the enzyme activity and are inhibited by OA.
