Carbon monoxide and ethanol oxidation on PtSn supported catalysts: Effect of the nature of the carbon support and Pt:Sn composition

- PtSn with different metallic ratios was prepared on carbon black and nanofibers.
- Catalysts were evaluated toward the ethanol and CO oxidation reactions.
- PtSn/carbon nanofibers displayed higher tolerance to CO compared to Vulcan XC-72R.
- PtSn/Vulcan XC-72R showed higher catalytic activity toward ethanol oxidation.
- Similar behavior was observed in single fuel cell and half-cell experiments.
