The adsorption of salicylic acid, acetylsalicylic acid and atenolol from aqueous solutions onto natural zeolites and clays: Clinoptilolite, bentonite and kaolin

► The adsorption of pharmaceutically active compounds from aqueous solutions was investigated. ► Salicylic acid, acetylsalicylic acid and atenolol were adsorbed on natural minerals. ► Zeolite clinoptilolite and clays bentonite and kaolin were used as adsorbents. ► Clinoptilolites were ion-exchanged by metallic cations, clays were modified by organic cation.
