Preparation of PET/Ag hybrid fibers via a biomimetic surface functionalization method

► PET/Ag fibers were prepared via a biomimetic surface functionalization method. ► The method is fast, simple, efficient, nontoxic, as well as controllable. ► The silver layer coated on PET-PDA fibers was continuous, uniform, and compact. ► The as-prepared PET-Ag fibers possess good electrical conductivity. ► The binding force between the silver layer and PET-PDA fiber was strong.
