Reassessment of the role of Ag as the dopant in Li-ion cathode materials

► Ag is an effective additive/coating/dopant only when the cathode electrode operation potential is less than 3.7 V. ► Ag can be oxidized at the cathode when the operation potential is more than 3.7 V. ► The oxidized Ag-product can dissolve in electrolyte and diffuse.
