Influence of turbulence kinetic energy on bubble size in different scale flotation cells

► Size of the cell is a crucial factor on sensitivity of bubble size from impeller speed. ► A critical turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) appeared to divide the effect on bubble size. ► Below critical TKE, bubble size reduced as TKE increased in the 5 L cell. ► Above critical TKE, little impact on bubble size observed in the 5 and 60 L cells.
