Effect of droplets generation in the boiling limit conditions: Heat pipe visualization

► In the experiment we evaluate the heat transfer performance of cylindrical heat pipe. ► Visualization of the thermal hydrualic behaviour of the evaporator is accomplished. ► Droplet generation due to nucleate boiling regime is analyzed. ► Improvement in evaporator performance using grooves in the wick is studied.
