Effect of dopant on the corrosion protective performance of environmentally benign nanostructured conducting composite coatings
چکیده انگلیسی

The present work study reports the comparative corrosion protective performance of nanostructured methyl orange (MO) doped polyaniline (PANI) and camphorsulphonic acid (CSA) doped poly(1-naphthylamine) (PNA) dispersed polyurethane-based composite coatings against mild steel (MS). The influence of the dopant on the passivation of metal was analyzed using two different dopants. The nanostructure of the conducting polymers—MO-PANI and CSA-PNA was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The corrosion protective performance of the coatings against MS was evaluated by the physico-mechanical properties and corrosion rate measurements.
