Adsorption and desorption of DNA on bovine serum albumin modified gold nanoparticles

- Bovine serum albumin (BSA) modified gold nanoparticles were identified to show reversible surface charge.
- The reversible surface charge was switchable by pH around the isoelectric point (IEP) of BSA.
- DNA can be absorbed effectively on the positively charged particle surface at pH lower than the IEP.
- At pH higher than the IEP, DNA can be eluted from the negatively charged particle surface.
