Gasification of pelletized biomass in a pilot scale downdraft gasifier

► Biomass pellets were tested in a 200 kW downdraft gasifier. ► Pelletized biomass leads to high pressure drop, difficult gasifier control and fine residues. ► The gasification of biomass pellets leads to good syngas compositions. ► Pelletized biomass should be considered only as complementary fuel in co-gasification with other feedstock.
