Biobleaching of pulp from oil palm empty fruit bunches with laccase and xylanase

► EFB can be used as raw material for the production of bleached pulp. ► An enzymatic pre-treatment improved the properties of the bleached pulps. ► The sequential application of xylanase and laccase was the most efficient treatment. ► Even after accelerated ageing, the XLEP pulp presented the best properties.
