► Effluent properties from laccase-HBT treatment were analyzed with a sequential statistical plan. ► Influence of laccase, HBT and time on effluent properties was assessed for first time in eucalypt pulp. ► Cleaner processes can be obtained with xylanase and laccase-mediator biobleaching sequences.
