Insights into driver adaptation to inclement weather in Canada

► This study explores driver adaptation to inclement weather at two temporal scales. ► Collision data from 23 Canadian cities suggests that drivers do not become acclimatized to inclement weather. ► Collision rates during rainfall and winter precipitation events are highly elevated. ► High-speed roads and speeding behaviour are particularly problematic when driving during snowfall and freezing rain.
