Prise en charge du cadavre médico-légal : une démarche d'évaluation des pratiques professionnelles

The implementation of the reform of forensic medicine and the certification requirement for hospitals both motivated the forensic institute of the university hospital center of Montpellier to undertake an assessment of its professional practices concerning the clinical pathway of forensic corpse. The process analysis conducted by a working group in 2013-2014 resulted in the implementation of a regularly evaluated improvement actions plan. The obtained results show an increased protocolisation of the autopsy process, harmonization and enhanced security in professional practices, improved working conditions, a valuation of the autopsy staff skills, and a rationalization of costs related to forensic activities. Team dynamics generated by this approach continues through a monthly Staff-EPP meeting, gathering the entire multidisciplinary team.
