Suicide complexe par compression cervicale et arme blanche : exemple d'un cas

Complex suicide is defined as the use of more than one method to induce death. Intoxications, hanging, gunshot and defenestration are the most common means for suicide. We are reporting a case of complex suicide with cervical compression and stab wound. A 27-year-old male committed suicide using a plastic ligature around the neck and self-inflicted stab wounds on cervical area. Autopsy did not find deep lesion related to Serflex ligature, but evidenced a wound on right internal jugular vein and base of the tongue responsible of external hemorrhage and death. Combination of data from scene investigation, external examination and autopsy allowed to determine the self-inflicted nature of injuries and rule out homicide.
