Determination of binding constants between one protein and multiple carbohydrates by affinity chromatography on a microchip

► We develop a method for investigating particular interactions between different carbohydrates and a protein. ► We introduce a new parameter termed as critical elution concentration (CMC). ► The CMC of carbohydrate is found to be inversely proportional to its binding constant to the protein. ► Due to decrease in analysis time, our method has the potential use in high throughput carbohydrate drug screening.
