Using in situ Raman spectroscopy to study the drug precipitation inhibition and supersaturation mechanism of Vitamin E TPGS from self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SEDDS)

- SEDDS using Labrasol® or TPGS were formulated for two poorly soluble drugs.
- High levels of supersaturation were achieved from Vitamin E TPGS SEDDS.
- Raman spectroscopy indicated H-bonding as main factor for precipitation inhibition.
- Studying the physicochemical properties can help successful formulation of SEDDS.
