Established in 1992, the Forensic Fauna and Flora unit (3F) covers the most of areas of expertise related to the presence of animals, insects, diatoms and pollens. Determining an environmental profiling involves the application of series of biological elements analysis techniques to provide information in forensics. These biological indicators must be understood as fragmented elements from an original environment, characterized by a heterogeneous group of animals or plants. All are likely to be encountered on a scene of crime, a corpse, a victim, a place, or an object and are potential clues. These forensic fields are very relevant; especially when they are integrated in a multidisciplinary approach.
