Detection of the origin of Brazilian wines based on the determination of only four elements using high-resolution continuum source flame AAS

► Ten elements have been determined in wine using high-resolution continuum source flame AAS. ► Brazilian red wine samples from eight different regions have been evaluated. ► No commercial wines have been analyzed, only wines from grapes of well-defined areas. ► No sample preparation was necessary, and aqueous standard solutions were used for calibration. ► Four elements, K, Mn, Rb and Sr, were sufficient to indicate the origin of the wines.
