Multi-element analysis of milk by ICP-oa-TOF-MS after precipitation of calcium and proteins by oxalic and nitric acid

► We employed oxalic acid and HNO3 to milk samples to precipitate calcium and proteins, respectively. ► The resulting liquid phase is aspirated for ICP-TOF-MS analysis of 16 elements. ► Significant improvements relating some severe interferents are obtained. ► High detection power is another advantage due to an analysis without dilution.
