Determination of oil-in-water using nanoemulsions as solvents and UV visible and total organic carbon detection methods

► Nanoemulsion was produced based on Solbrax. ► These was capable of transforming the oily water in a colloidal dispersion. ► The colloidal dispersion can be read in the UV-vis and TOC devices. ► The oil content of oily water was obtained from measurement in the two equipments. ► The new methods allowed a simple, quick and accurate oil-in-water analysis.
