Cyclotriveratrylene-carbazole cage for self-assembly of C60

► A novel pyramidal compound cyclotriveratrylene-carbazole was synthesized. ► The large binding constant between CTV-CZ and C60 was obtained by molecular spectra. ► The stable host-guest complex ascribed to their size-match and PET interaction.
