Synthesis/characterization of a new chelating resin and on-line solid phase extraction for the determination of Ag(I) and Pd(II) from water, cream, anode slime and converter samples by flow injection flame atomic absorption spectrometry

► A new chelating resin was synthesized. ► The resin was characterized by FTIR and elemental analysis. ► Overall time required for on-line preconcentration of both Ag(I) and Pd(II) was 3.76 min. ► The high preconcentration factors of 43 for Ag(I) and of 57 for Pd(II) were obtained. ► On-line determination of Ag(I) and Pd(II) in bottled water, cream, anode slime and converters.
