Modification of coral-like SnO2 nanostructures with dense TiO2 nanoparticles for a self-cleaning gas sensor

► Self-cleaning gas sensor based on coral-like TiO2/SnO2 nanocomposites is presented. ► Plasma-based modification improves the density of TiO2 in TiO2/SnO2 nanocomposites. ► Sensor exhibits remarkably enhanced stability after detecting for many cycles. ► Sensor can be promisingly applied for monitoring environmental gas pollutants.
