Electrodeposition of ruthenium oxide on ferritic stainless steel bipolar plate for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells

► RuO2 was cathodically deposited on the stainless steel at various conditions. ► The RuO2-deposition on stainless steel shows hydrophobic characteristics. ► The RuO2-deposition on stainless steel decreases the ICR value. ► The RuO2-deposition is a feasible method for the bipolar plate material.
