Graphene-beaded carbon nanofibers for use in supercapacitor electrodes: Synthesis and electrochemical characterization

► Novel unique graphene-beaded carbon nanofibers were synthesized. ► Supercapacitor electrodes based on the new carbon nanostructures were fabricated. ► Microstructures and electrochemical properties of the electrodes were tested. ► Improved electrochemical properties of the novel electrodes were observed. ► Mechanisms responsible for the improved properties were explored.
