Asymmetric mono- and dinuclear GaIII and ZnII complexes as models for purple acid phosphatases

The GaIIIZnII complex of an asymmetric dinucleating ligand with second coordination sphere hydrogen bond donors is shown to be not only a structural model of purple acid phosphatases but is also able to mimic the essential function of these enzymes, i.e. the hydrolysis of phosphomonoesters.169
